# Two Screens, One Pigeon. Lettre Welcomes the iPhone Duo on Day Zero.

*We're into the slow life. But when it comes to supporting new technology, we're pretty quick to unfold*

**LETTRE.APP BLOG | PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT | OCTOBER 2026**

There's a new iPhone in town, and it's got a bit of a split personality.

Apple has officially entered the foldable era with the iPhone Duo. Two displays, a fancy hinge, a whole lot of screen real estate, and an entirely new way to experience your favorite apps.

And naturally, your favorite postal pigeon had to get involved.

We're delighted to announce that **Lettre is fully compatible with the iPhone Duo, with support ready from day zero.**

Not day one. Not next week. Not after a few awkward updates and a heartfelt apology from the developers.

**Day. Zero.**

While some of the bigger names in the App Store are still trying to get their apps to unfold properly, our tiny independent team has already delivered.

Which is fitting, really. We're in the business of delivering things.

And this particular delivery? Right on time.

## A New Chapter Unfolds

For the uninitiated, iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable iPhone, offering a compact outer display and a spacious 7.6-inch inner display. It's essentially an iPhone that opens up like a book.

And if there's one thing we love more than a good letter, it's a good book.

The moment we saw the Duo, we knew we had to get Lettre into the fold.

After all, writing letters is already a rather intimate, personal experience. Giving people more room to write, read, collect stamps, and discover pen pals just makes sense.

A bigger canvas for bigger feelings. More space for your thoughts. More room for that five-paragraph letter about why your cat has been acting suspiciously.

Or a seven-page confession of love. We don't judge.

Actually, we encourage it.

We've always believed correspondence deserves more than a cramped little text box. The iPhone Duo gives us a rather lovely opportunity to put that philosophy on full display.

Both of them, in fact.

## Double the Screens. Double the Possibilities. Same Old-Fashioned Correspondence.

Lettre was designed around a simple idea: **communication should be meaningful, not mindless.**

No endless doomscrolling. No race to collect followers. No algorithms demanding your attention every eleven seconds.

Just you, your thoughts, and someone on the other side of the world who's genuinely interested in reading them.

And now, all of that fits beautifully on a device that folds in half.

### Folded? A little Lettre.

Keep things compact and cozy. Check your mailbox, browse your correspondence, or admire the stamps you've collected. Sometimes, the best things really do come in small packages.

### Unfolded? A whole lotta Lettre.

Open things up and enjoy the extra breathing room. Longer letters, larger canvases, and more space to appreciate all the little details that make correspondence special.

You could say we're opening up new possibilities for communication.

You could also say we're turning over a new leaf.

Or perhaps opening a new chapter.

We're sorry. We have a lot of these.

We tried to keep the jokes to a minimum, but things quickly unfolded.

## Full Compatibility. No Half Measures.

When we say full compatibility, we mean that Lettre has been prepared for the iPhone Duo's unique form factor, not simply squeezed onto a bigger screen with crossed fingers and a prayer.

Our team has been working to make sure Lettre feels right at home on Apple's newest device, with support for its different display sizes, orientations, and the transition between folded and unfolded experiences.

That means enjoying your favorite Lettre experiences, including:

- **Writing lettres:** More room to compose thoughtful correspondence and make use of the writing canvas.
- **Discovering PenPals:** Find interesting people and start conversations worth having.
- **Exploring the Post Office:** Browse stationery, discover gorgeous stamps from independent artists, and give your letters a little personality.
- **Collecting stamps:** Enjoy your collection and the wonderful little works of art you've accumulated along the way.
- **Reading correspondence:** Give those long, heartfelt letters the space and attention they deserve.

No awkward stretching. No pretending a phone with two displays is just an unusually enthusiastic regular phone.

And definitely no waiting for us to get our act together.

We already did.

**You bring the Duo. We'll bring the correspondence.**

## Apple Made a Foldable. We Made It Writeable.

There's something wonderfully poetic about the iPhone Duo.

We've spent years building a digital experience inspired by one of humanity's oldest and most beloved forms of communication: handwritten letters.

And now, we're bringing that experience to one of the newest and most ambitious pieces of consumer technology.

Old-fashioned sentiment. Cutting-edge hardware.

A match made in correspondence heaven.

There's even Apple Pencil (USB-C) support on the iPhone Duo, which makes the device an especially interesting addition to the world of digital handwriting.

When we started Lettre on the iPad, we wanted to preserve the personal touch of writing by hand. When we expanded to iPhone, we brought the magic of correspondence to a more pocket-friendly format.

And now, with the Duo, those two worlds are getting closer together.

It's a rather full-circle moment.

Or should we say, a full-*fold* moment?

No?

Fair enough.

## A Tiny Team. A Pretty Big Flex.

We'd be lying if we said we weren't just a little proud of this one.

Lettre isn't backed by a giant corporation. We don't have hundreds of engineers sitting in a glass office somewhere, nor do we have a bottomless development budget.

We're a tiny, fiercely independent team trying to make the internet a slightly more thoughtful place.

And yet, here we are.

**Full iPhone Duo compatibility. Day-zero support.**

Meanwhile, some of the big boys are still figuring out which way the screen folds.

We're not naming names, of course.

That's not very polite correspondence etiquette.

But we will say this: sometimes it isn't the size of the team that matters. It's how quickly they can adapt.

And perhaps having a highly motivated pigeon running your postal operations helps.

Pippin has two wings, after all.

He's been preparing for this Duo business his entire life.

*Editor's note: Pippin would like it known that he's been working extremely hard and would appreciate a raise. We reminded him that he is a pigeon.*

## Two's Company. Three's a PenPal Stack.

Speaking of duos, we've always been quite fond of things that come in pairs.

Pen and paper.

Stamp and envelope.

Sender and recipient.

Pippin and his ever-growing list of workplace grievances.

But there's one pairing we're especially excited about: **you and your next pen pal.**

Because as much as we love fancy new hardware, the best thing about Lettre has never been the screen you're looking at.

It's the person on the other side of it.

Somewhere out there is someone who shares your obscure interests, appreciates your terrible jokes, or has a completely different perspective on life that you might just find fascinating.

All you have to do is write.

And if that turns into a lifelong friendship?

Well, that's a pretty good duo, if you ask us.

Maybe even a dynamic duo.

We'll leave the superhero costumes to Pippin.

## Slow Correspondence. Surprisingly Fast Development.

There's a certain irony in all this, and we're fully aware of it.

We're the app constantly telling people to slow down.

Take your time.

Write something meaningful.

Stop treating human interaction like a competitive sport.

And then Apple announces a new device, and suddenly we're sprinting toward the finish line like Pippin just spotted an unattended bag of breadcrumbs.

But that's the thing.

**We believe technology should move quickly enough to give people the freedom to slow down.**

Great technology shouldn't demand more of your attention. It should make the things you care about easier, more enjoyable, and more accessible.

We're not trying to reinvent human communication every six months.

We're trying to preserve something timeless, while making sure it works beautifully on whatever the future brings.

Even if the future apparently involves phones doing origami.

We're into the slow life.

Just not when it comes to shipping support for new hardware.

## No Ads. No Algorithms. No Funny Business. Just Lettres.

And while we're celebrating shiny new technology, here's something that hasn't changed.

Lettre remains an independent, community-funded, ad-free space for meaningful correspondence.

No advertisements wedged between your letters.

No selling your personal data.

No endless feed designed to keep you scrolling until you've forgotten what year it is.

We don't believe your private thoughts and personal connections should be treated like advertising inventory.

We believe a letter should be a letter.

Not an opportunity to sell you twelve different brands of toothpaste.

This is all possible because of the wonderful members of **Pippin's Supporters Club**, who help keep our little Post Office running and Lettre accessible to everyone.

So if you're a supporter reading this, thank you.

You've helped a tiny team build something that can stand alongside much bigger names.

Or, in this particular case, unfold alongside them.

Your support keeps our lights on, our servers running, and Pippin gainfully employed.

Well, mostly employed.

He's been spending an awful lot of time admiring the new hinge.

## Welcome to the Fold.

The iPhone Duo officially arrived in stores on October 23, 2026, and Lettre was ready to welcome it from the very beginning.

Whether you're discovering Lettre for the first time or you've been writing with us since our early iPad days, we're excited to give you one more way to experience the joy of good old-fashioned correspondence.

This is just another chapter in our ongoing mission to make the world feel a little smaller, one thoughtful letter at a time.

And this chapter happens to fold in half.

Pretty neat, if you ask us.

So go ahead.

Open your iPhone Duo.

Open Lettre.

Open up to someone new.

**Because some things are better together.**

Like pen and paper. Like stamps and envelopes. Like you and a good pen pal.

And apparently, like two screens and one extremely overworked pigeon.

With love, ink, and impeccable timing,

**The Lettre Team (and Pippin)**

*P.S. We had several more folding puns prepared, but our editor told us to cut it out. Apparently, things were getting out of hand. Or out of fold. Anyway, we'll crease and desist.*

*P.P.S. Did we mention day-zero support? Just making sure that point didn't get lost in the fold.*
